The system is the first fully fiber optics based IFE system. FTTS™ uses light pulses in fiber optic strands to carry the audio-video-data streams from the server directly to the seat display screens, thus, eliminating the seat electronics box and many of the other boxes required by legacy systems. Compared to these earlier systems the FTTS™ offers a simple yet leading edge solution that results in lower weight, less cost to operate, extremely high band width, higher reliability and a “future proof” aircraft IFE installation.
